Camp Fire Sandusky County is a 501 © 3 non-profit Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Licensed and American Camp Association Accredited (ACA) youth service organization serving youth in grades K-12 in and around our location in Fremont, OH for over 95 years! Camp Fire Sandusky County provides a unique service to all youth in our area through our 47-acre campus which houses a pond, stream, woods, 3-miles of trails, two treehouse structures, and river frontage. As a youth service organization our focus is on youth understanding and empowerment in our programs, with that we have a promise instead of a mission so all youth understand why we do what we do. Our promise is “Young People want to shape the world. Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are. In Camp Fire, it begins now. Light the fire within.” Camp Fire’s four pillars of focus are on youth development through 1) environmental stewardship and summer camps, 2) teen leadership 3) out-of-school time/ before- and after-school programming and 4) community assessed needs. Woven into every Camp Fire experience is our proven framework for thriving developed in partnership with the Weickert Center and The Search Institute. We call the framework Thrive{ology}: a research-based, measurable approach to youth development. Camp Fire Sandusky County provides high-quality programming throughout the year.
