I provide music therapy services for children ages 0 - 6th grade (older children may also be accepted).Traditional music therapy services include the initial meeting, initial assessment for the child to determine if music therapy is appropriate, and the music therapy process (assessment, baseline, and treatment). A music therapist utilizes rhythm instruments, drums, movement, props, books, and various age appropriate games to help children achieve their goals. Goal areas can include communication, academic, motor, emotional, and social interaction skills. Therapists are able to work with most suspected and diagnosed disabilities as well as any life crisis events and stressors that a child might experience. Piano lessons - for all ages and abilities - are also offered by the studio. Children who take music lessons do better in school both academically and socially. Additional skills learned include attending, sequencing, basic math skills, and emotional expression - just to name a few!
