Educational Value

The Cleveland Foundry strives to make all of the Foundry’s rowing and sailing programs accessible to students by removing financial and experiential barriers to participation. The Row. Sail. Dream. Program provides introductory exposure to rowing and sailing, and equips students with the resources and skills they need to be successful in these sports. The Foundry is committed to removing barriers to participation in rowing and sailing by providing access to the necessary equipment and facilities, offering high-quality instruction in fitness and skill development, connecting students to swimming lessons to develop water safety skills, and providing proper attire to facilitate full engagement in Foundry programs for students in need. Through the Row. Sail. Dream. Program, students are exposed to the non-traditional sports of rowing and sailing and are encouraged to broaden the horizons of what they thought possible for themselves, pushing the limits of their comfort zones in a safe, structured environment. Participation in the Row. Sail. Dream. Program offers Cleveland area students an opportunity to receive entry level instruction in rowing and sailing, while also developing the non-cognitive, social-emotional skills of teamwork, communication and perseverance.
