Educational Value

Music is something that is invaluable for our students! The students I have in lessons excel in other areas of their lives such as academics. They learn discipline, responsibility, coordination, and the other wonderful things music has to offer like learning rhythm, pitch, and how to play with others. I love watching my students start out not knowing how to get the violin out of their case, and then in a short amount of time, they are playing entire songs. An important aspect of learning an instrument is consistency in practice and coming to lessons every week. Missing one of these two aspects hinders the student in learning and one of my goals as a teacher is to take away any roadblocks a student may encounter so they can focus on learning and being the best musician and person, they can be. I have several families who have struggled to come up with the money each week for lessons and this program would relieve a lot of stress some of my families have. Every student deserves an equal chance at learning regardless of the family income.
