We are a Dance School that has been offering dance instruction to students for over 64 years in the Wapakoneta area. We offer tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, cheer and tumbling classes to children ages 2-19. The value that a dance education can provide to a student is being able to getup in front of people on a stage, meeting new friends and being a part of something that does not involve a direct school athletic sport. A dance education teaches the student about body awareness, self confidence and performance and being in a dance class can help a student truly come into their own, as there are so many forms of dance that is specific to the individual interests. Our studio has been in business for 64 years and I have been running the facility for 39 years. Over the course of these years we have had many students go on and make a career out of their education that they learned here at the dance centre. Dance also gives many students a path to follow that might not be the traditional path of college or a specific trade school. We have students that have gone on and opened their own studios, danced professionally and some that even have a degree and teach in school systems. Many of our staff have been our former students who found their love and have stayed to continue into their career. What dance offers a student is unlike any other activity. With them getting a costume and getting to perform on stage in front of an audience and get the applause just really fills the heart in so many ways. My staff is not all college educated in dance, but have studied through many workshops and conventions to become a better teacher. We have some of the finest educators with a passion and excellence in teaching that you would ever find. We also have had many opportunities to take our dancers and perform for area events and nursing homes and also performed at the opening game of Cleveland Cavaliers game. I myself as the owner do not have a degree in dance but I have been a part of the dance Centre for over 39 years, having run the business for the last 20 years. I have attended many workshops and seminars, but do not have certificates for these events as that is not how they work. We have almost 600 students and I deal with over 400 families. We pride on ourselves on how we run this business and the staff that is involved. To give each child a positive nurturing experience, they can take with them into every aspect of their life.
